PAWS of Dale Hollow was founded in 2003 when a dedicated group of volunteers recognized the need to address the growing problem of homeless dogs and cats in our community. We are a foster-based, all-volunteer organization, and 100% of every donation goes directly toward the animals in our care.



HEALTH
Animals enter our program through various means, including strays, surrendered pets, and animals in need of medical attention.
We work with our local veterinarians to provide necessary medical care, vaccinations, and spaying/neutering to ensure the health and well-being of each animal.

Even though some of our veterinarians provide services at a discounted rate, the cost of medical care can be significant. It is by far our largest budget item.
We rely on the generosity of our supporters to help cover these expenses and provide the best possible care for our animals.

FOSTER CARE
Foster homes are the heart of our organization. Without them, we simply could not rescue and care for the animals that need us. Our foster families provide a safe and loving environment for the animals, helping them to socialize and prepare for their forever homes.

PAWS budgets and pays for all food, supplies, and medical care for the animals in our foster homes. We are grateful to our foster families for their dedication and commitment to helping animals in need.


COMMUNITY
We support members of our community, who love and care for their pets, by providing low-cost spay and neuter program to them.
We also provide financial assistance for emergency veterinary care (when funds allow.)
Our feral cat Trap-Neuter-Release and feeding programs aims to stem the population of feral cats and improve the lives of animals in our area.

We also started a pet food bank to assist low-income residents in feeding their beloved pets.

By helping families manage the cost of pet care, we hope to keep more animals safe, healthy, and in homes where they belong.

ADOPTION
Once the animals have been examened by our veterinary team and any necessary treatments are completed, they are ready for adoption.
We aim to have the animals spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before they are placed in their new homes. In case an adoption is approved before the spay/neuter surgery, we require that the adopter schedule the surgery within a specified time frame.
As part of the adoption process, we provide transportation for the animals to their new homes (when logistically possible), and we also provide post-adoption support to help ensure a smooth transition for both the animal and their new family.

We carefully screen potential adopters to ensure each animal is placed in a safe, loving home where they will be cherished for a lifetime.
